Ugly Little Communist House

The StorySome people may say that I write about places I love with an almost contemptuous edge: highlighting all the imperfections, pitfalls and irritants while largely ignoring the seductive qualities that most everyone else touts. I think this is probably a fair assessment and doubt that I have any future in the tourism industry. If you're an American in Prague chances are good you're an English teacher. Chances are better that you're running away from something: either the daily routine and responsibility of adult life or something more tangible like a past or the lack of a future. But then, for that there's no better city then Prague. There are plenty of cracks in between the Czech country and a capital owned by foreign powers in the Gothic City to get lost in.
